As a service to students applying to Thunderbird - and those interested in honing their skills before applying to another graduate business program - we offer a suite of preparatory programs focused on enhancing your test-taking and English language skills. These prep programs are available in custom and intensive formats, with dates tailored to your time and tutoring needs.
GMAT Test Preparation
As part of the Thunderbird admissions process, you are required to take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). You must achieve and submit acceptable scores within five years of taking the exam. For many prospective students who have been out of school for a period of time, standardized test-taking skills and the knowledge tested may be a bit rusty. Our GMAT preparatory course will refresh your knowledge and give you the skill and confidence to score your best.

TOEFL Test Preparation
If your undergraduate coursework was not taught in English, you also need to demonstrate acceptable English language proficiency through the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL Exam) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS Test). To facilitate your acceptance, Thunderbird offers TOEFL preparatory programs designed to both boost your English proficiency and your test-taking skills.

Pre-MBA/Masters Intensive English Program and English Boot Camp
Succeeding in an English-based business program requires a firm understanding of business English and the ability to communicate professionally in both written and oral form. Thunderbird's innovative Pre-MBA/Masters Intensive English Program, as well as our English Boot Camp program, are designed to give prospective students (and conditionally accepted students) immersive instruction in English that will provide them with a framework and foundation for a successful graduate school experience.
